Today I read an article about new fact of diabetes mellitus(DM).

There are two types of DM, do you know the mechanism of DM?

The article I read is related to type2 diabetes mellitus treatment.

The first-line choice of type 2 DM is losing their body weight.

There are some ways to lose weight, like diet restriction or increasing caloric expenditure through exercise.

Among them, most effective but radical way is cutting your stomach and small bowel.

If the procedure is done, you can't eat large amount of food. So you can easily reduce your food intake.

But recently, new fact is clear.

The patients who have got this operation have changed their metabolic system.

They can often get their blood sugar under control quickly - even before they lose weight.

What's novel here is that we did not see that in the diet group, although they lost the same amount of weight.

When the changes that occur after the operation is revealed, the treatment way of type 2 DM may completely change.
